Georgian police have detained an Azerbaijani citizen for drug possession, who intended to import a large amount of methadone in Georgia from Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports that Georgian police officers detained the Azerbaijani citizen, identified only as S.A., at the Red Bridge (a crossing point between Georgia and Azerbaijan on the Tbilisi-Ganja road) and seized 119,21 grams of methadone as a result of search of S.A.
The crime is punishable by 15 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
