Georgian law enforcers detained 11 individuals for online drug trafficking and closed four online drugstores in the first four months of 2021, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in his annual report to parliament today.
The report covers the period from June 2020 to May 2021 and states that Georgia has become more focused on identifying drug dealers.
From June 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021 a total of 84 drug dealers were charged for drug crimes throughout the country.
Police seized 89 kilograms of heroin, 1 kilogram of cocaine, 6.5 kilograms of new psychoactive substances, 7,000 pills of Subutex and Suboxone in 2020, while 3,400 pills of Subutex/Suboxone, 7 kilograms of Heroin, 2 kilograms of Alpha PVP, and 2 kilograms of new psychoactive substances were seized in the first four months of 2021.
