The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has charged an individual identified only as B.T. for the rape of a Kazakh citizen which then led to her death.
On May 5, B.T. raped 26-year-old A.A. after threatening her. Following the rape, the woman jumped from the eighth floor of a residential building.
B.T. was detained on May 6.
The Georgian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty has reported that the Kazakh woman, who had arrived in Georgia over a month ago, worked at a Georgian-Kazakh company.
Allegedly the detainee is her co-worker.
The crime is punishable by eight to ten years in prison.
