A series of displays and talks at Mexico's International Image Festival are introducing Georgia - a first-time participant of the event - to viewers through its Invited Country status.
Prize-winning photographer Badri Vadachkoria and filmmakers Dea Kulumbegashvili and Nino Kirtadze are on the programme representing the country through their work or speaking enagements, with the Embassy of Georgia involved in marking the spotlight on the country.
The current edition of the multidisciplinary festival is themed around water and opened on Friday for the duration of a week. It is hosted for the 10th time, with the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo working as the organiser.
In sections and events related to Georgia's profile, photographs by Vadachkoria have been displayed in two digital shows, entitled The Thousand Colours of Georgia and Past, Present and Future.
Both launched on the opening day of the festival, highlighting "flavours and colours" of the country via photographs of locations, monuments and people in the two exhibitions.
In separate events on Sunday, 2021 Trieste Film Festival-winning film director Dea Kulumbegashvili spoke to a conference about Georgian cinema, while filmmaker Nino Kirtadze addressed the conference entitled "Directing Reality: the fine line between facts and fiction".
Set to run through Friday, the festival has its full programme available here.
