A citizen of the village of Bershueti in the Gori Municipality, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces on March 5, 2020, has been released today, the Georgian State Security Service reports.

The reason for the detention of the Georgian citizen is still unknown.

After speaking to law enforcers, the woman will be able to return home, reports the State Security Service.

The Russian occupation forces illegally placed a new so-called border sign in the village of Bershueti on July 3, 2017.

Due to the illegal erection of so-called borders, parts of local farmers' agricultural lands have fallen behind the occupation line.
