Pirates have kidnapped four Georgian sailors from Libyan-flagged tanker in Lagos, the city in Africa, reports Georgia's Maritime Transport Agency.
The agency says that the armed pirates have kidnapped 10 sailors including Georgian citizens on February 20.
The agency constantly contacts with the ship-owner company, which is known as a highly responsive and has good reputation. We have already contacted the family members of the Georgian hostages. However, due to the safety of Georgian sailors, we urge Georgian media not to disseminate identifying information”, says the agency.
The Ministry of Economics and Sustainable Development, the Maritime Transport Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ship-owner company are working together to safely rescue Georgian sailors.
