Sopio Gogokhia, a teacher from Georgia’s Russia-occupied Abkhazia public school No. 10, has won the National Teacher Award of Georgia.

Gogokhia, teacher of Fine Arts and Georgian language, was named among five best Georgian teachers and has been awarded 10,000 GEL.

The Minister of Education Mikheil Chkhenkeli congratulated Gogokhia on her award and thanked all Georgian teachers for their selfless efforts during the pandemic.

It is a great honour for me to be with you… All the individuals who are in connection with this profession, be it school teachers, university professors or vocational teachers, all of them are winners. These people serve the most important purpose – caring for the future of our country, educating our young generation, children, and students”, said Chkhenkeli.
