Author Nodar Dumbadze’s tales unveiled in Arabic, showcased at Doha Int’l Book Fair

A collection of Arabic-language works by popular Georgian writer Nodar Dumbadze have been presented at the 30th Doha International Book Fair, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Eight popular tales of Nodar Dumbadze have been translated into Arabic, including Kukaracha, Mother, Dog, Don’t Wake Up, Bird, Blood, Korida, Ungrateful.
Ketevan Dumbadze, the daughter of the writer and Nikoloz Revazishvili, the Ambassador of Georgia to the State of Qatar, presented diplomas of the Georgian Minister of Education to the representatives of Qatar's Ministry of Culture for their contribution to the publication of the book.
The cover of the book is illustrated with a painting Winter in Tbilisi by popular Georgian artist Elene Akhvlediani.
Titles by Georgian authors and publishers from the country are set to be introduced to readers in Europe as major book fairs in London and Leipzig host literature fans this month.
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini named the Frankfurt Book Fair, where Georgia had been participated with the status of honourable guest, among the major events of 2018.
Georgia is officially launching a year-long program of literary activities and events in the German-speaking world, dedicated to the country’s status as the Guest of Honour at this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair in fall.
German-speaking readers now have the opportunity to get their hands on Georgian author Zurab Karumidze's fiction work Dagny, or a Love Feast, following the book's release and its presentation at the Frankfurt Book Fair last month.
