Tbilisi City Court has sentenced former official of the Prosecutor’s Office Mirza Subeliani to 13 months in prison.
Subeliani was arrested in the high-profile murder case of an adolescent back in June 2018.
The original charges brought against him were failing to inform the authorities about a crime - they were later changed to concealing a crime.
Two teenage boys, Davit Saralidze and Levan Dadunashvili, were murdered on 1 December 2017 when a group of teenage boys quarrelled in Tbilisi.
Several individuals were detained regarding the murder case along with Mirza Subeliani.
Since the court verdict failed to identify the actual killer of 16-year-old David Saralidze who died from multiple knife wounds, his father Zaza Saralidze started a protest rally in the end of May demanding the government hold accountable the actual killers.
The rallies led to the resignation of former Chief Prosecutor Irakli Shotadze.
