Parliament speaker ends visit in Poland, meets with foreign minister

Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze has ended his visit in Poland with a meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz.

The parties discussed the historic friendship between Georgia and Poland, deepening cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats and Georgia’s ongoing democratic reforms.

The politicians also referred to the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories as well as the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process.

The Polish Foreign Minister confirmed his country’s  firm support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty as well as its western aspirations.

We opened the first session of Georgian-Polish joint parliamentary assembly that is of historic significance,” Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze said adding it will support development of strategic relationship between Georgia’s and Poland’s parliaments.

Polish support towards Georgia is special indeed,” Irakli Kobakhidze stated.

Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz emphasized the close friendly relationship between the countries adding Poland will continue to intensively support Georgia in terms of EU and NATO integration.

Everything is on the right path. Now the EU should respectively response to the legitimate aspirations of the Georgian people,’ Jacek Czaputowicz said.  

Irakli Kobakhidze visited Poland with a Georgian delegation.
