Tbilisi City Hall to give scholarships to disadvantaged students

Tbilisi City Hall has announced that it is now accepting applications from economically and socially disadvantaged students looking for funding.

Tbilisi City Hall will provide funding within the government programme ‘Promotion of Socially Vulnerable and Successful Students’.

Bachelor’s, MA and Ph.D. students will be eligible to receive funding based on their income, background and grades.

The state will supply students with up to 2,250 GEL per academic year.

Students will be provided with 50, 70 or 100% of this sum on the basis of their grades”, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said.

If the average grade of the previous semester is 51 – 70 points, the student will be provided with 50% funding. In case their grades fall in between 71 – 90 points, the student will get 70% funding and 100 points if the student has 91 – 100 points.
