Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said a possible free trade agreement between the United States and Georgia would be a “logical continuation” of the partnership.
A trade agreement is a logical continuation of our partnership with the #US. We are ready to welcome more US companies to #Georgia, which serves as a natural hub for the region. A trade deal will advance both nations' security interests, while bringing tangible economic benefits. pic.twitter.com/JKiiHdp8LM

One of the world's leading publications, the Financial Times, has recently released an article on the importance of a free trade agreement between the United States and Georgia.
Strategically, commercially and, not least, morally, responding now to Georgia’s oft-stated desire for the launch of negotiations on an FTA makes sound sense for the US”, its author James Bacchus says.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani also considers that it is time "to further develop strategic partnership with US in the field of economy".
Time 2 further develop strategic partnership with????????in t/field of economy. ????????’s economic reforms, favourable business environment, promotion of investments, Geo's FTA with EU,EFTA,China,Turkey, neighbouring countries is a visible success& creates solid basis 4 signing FTA with ???????? https://t.co/4i4oLc9jCG

US Congressmen have urged the US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to start negotiations with Georgia on a free trade regime last year.
Later on this year, US Department of Commerce and then Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to enhance bilateral trade relations as well.
