Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk, Belarus earlier today.
Bakhtadze and Lukashenko praised collaboration in economy, tourism, transport, information technology, agriculture and culture between countries, adding the frequency of official visits between the states shows how close the relationship is.

Bakhtadze and Lukashenko noted that trade turnover between Belarus and Georgia is growing annually.
Belarusian support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty was also made explicit.
PM Bakhtadze has also held a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko and discussed parliamentary collaboration and further development of the relations between the countries.
During the meeting, it was noted that the number of Belarusian tourists coming to Georgia has increased 15 times since 2010.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani who is a member of the delegation paying a visit to Belarus stated that the two countries’ officials have also discussed the issue of adding direct flights between the countries.
