Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and President Salome Zurabishvili congratulated Boris Johnson on becoming United Kingdom’s new Prime Minister.
PM Bakhtadze wrote on his official Twitter page that he is confident UK-Georgia relations “will become even stronger”.

President Zurabishvili also hoped that “historic friendship” between the two countries “will continue to deepen as strategic partners”.

In his first speech as the new Prime Minister late on July 24 Boris Johnson said there is one point the politicians need to remember: "It is that people are our bosses", he said.

Replacing Theresa May, who served as UK's Prime Minister since 2016, Johnson has promised to "deliver Brexit" by October 31, 2019.
