Austrian Development Cooperation allocates €2 mln to support Georgian agriculture

A new four year project will be carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). 

Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) has provided a loan of €2 million to Georgia to support agricultural development, the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia reports. 

The project aims to develop  rural and agriculture  policy in Georgia, sustainably use the country’s natural resources and support environmentally friendly agricultural activities.

Such projects increase the potential of farmers and support the country’s regional development”, said First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Giorgi Khanishvili. 

Oni and Tsageri municipalities in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region in western Georgia and Khashuri and Gori municipalities of Shida Kartli region in central Georgia were chosen as pilot areas for the project funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation
