Tbilisi police has arrested a shooting suspect who caused an incident that left drivers and passersby on the city's Melikishvili Street startled on Tuesday.

The incident took place at an intersection of Melikishvili and Tatishvili streets near Tbilisi Concert Hall in the downtown, where a car was seen rolling down the latter street without a driver.

Seen with bullet holes through its windscreen, the vehicle was in motion on the downhill street, which joins the traffic on the main Melikishvili Street near the Concert Hall building.

See a Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Georgia video, showing the moment the driverless car rolled down Tatishvili Street and entered the traffic on Melikishvili Street:

Drivers attempted to avoid the car, which came to a standstill after it crashed into a vehicle parked next to the venue.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reported today it had arrested a citizen, born in 1989, and charged them with murder attempt that left the driver of the car with firearm wounds.

The police  said the arrested individual had fired on the driver of the vehicle, with the latter escaping their moving car. He was later taken to a hospital but refused to cooperate with law enforcement on the incident.

Three bullet holes were counted in the windshield of their car that came under attack, with the rear window glass shattered.

The police have also charged a friend of the alleged attacker for failing to report the crime.
