Two Iranian citizens sentenced to 16 years in jail for drug offence

Rustavi City Court has sentenced two Iranian citizens to 16 years in jail for the smuggling and possession of narcotics in especially large quantities into Georgia.
The police report the detainees brought the drugs into Georgia by means of hiding them in their body cavities on December 4, 2018.
Law enforcers arrested both of them on the same day in Rustavi. They had been in pretrial detention since then.
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has uncovered an online drug trafficking scheme and detained three drug dealers who are the citizens of Russia, announces the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Tbilisi City Court has found eight people arrested during the 12 May 2018 nightclub raids guilty of the sale and distribution of drugs in large quantities at different night clubs in Tbilisi.
The ministry says that so-called ‘drug-shops’ were set up on Telegram messenger and internet platform Matanga, through which the drug dealers would connect with their clients and agree upon drop spots.

Georgian law enforcers have detained three people and prevented a drug deal taking place. A Russian citizen was arrested for illegal purchase and distribution of drugs.
