The United Nations (UN) House in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi is going green with a new solar roof.
The roof of the UN House in Tbilisi is now covered with 36 solar panels that produce 16,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, reducing office energy use by 20%”, announced the UNDP Georgia today.
The initiative is part of UN efforts to promote the use of renewable energy, reduce the impact of energy generation on the environment and fight climate change.
UNDP in Georgia posted on its Twitter account about the news to mark the Earth Day that is celebrated on April 22.
