Georgian PM congratulates Nikol Pashinyan on election as new prime minister of Armenia

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his election as the new prime minister of Armenia, wishing him "all the best in his future endeavors.”

The Armenian parliament elected opposition figure and protest leader Pashinyan as the new prime minister on Tuesday following weeks of mass protests against the ruling party.
It was the second attempt for Pashinyan to get elected as PM after the ruling Republican Party blocked his first bid on May 1, despite initially promising not to hinder the election.
Following the ruling party’s decision not to vote for Pashinyan the first time around, even larger rallies broke out which eventually convinced the Republican Party to cooperate.
The Georgian delegation headed by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has left for Armenia today. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan welcomed the Georgian officials at the airport this morning.
Georgia and Armenia are one step closer to build a new bridge, named 'Friendship Bridge' that will help the countries to facilitate regional trade and passenger flow.
Georgia and Armenia are expanding commercial, economic and tourism ties by building a new bridge to better connect the two countries.
"Georgia and Armenia have big potential for developing trade relations and we should use these opportunities as much as possible.”
After being welcomed by PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili the parties are going to hold a wider format talks and make summarising statements for the media.
The newly elected Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has met with Georgian PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili at the administration building of the Government of Georgia in Tbilisi today, where they vowed closer and friendlier relations between the two countries. Pashinyan, the former protest leader who took up the post of the country’s premiership on May 8, arrived in Georgia on the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met with his Armenian counterpart Nokol Pashinyan in Yerevan today, where Bakhtadze and Pashinyan spoke about the enhancement of trade-economic relations and further deepening of friendly ties.
