Georgia’s Investigative Service has detained one person for fraudulently making money by using the name of famous musician Chris Rea.
The Investigative Service reported that the defendant developed a plan, according to which his company was allegedly organising a concert of Chris Rea in Tbilisi on December 30, 2017.
The defendant formally signed a contract with one of the concert halls and an online ticket selling company. He also conducted an active campaign for the concert. As a restful, the defendant sold 2,727 tickets, the total cost of which amounted to 152,850 GEL (about $62,260/€51,372*).
The defendant faces seven to 10 years in jail if convicted.
