Orthodox Christians around the globe and in Georgia are commemorating one of the most significant days in the Christian religious calendar, Good Friday.
The day marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Good Friday is regarded as the most challenging day of Lent. In accordance with their confessor’s instructions, the most devout Orthodox Christians eat nothing all day or only receive bread and water.
Good Friday is a public holiday in Georgia. Georgian Orthodox Christians believe no hard work should be done on Good Friday as the day is fully devoted to religious meditation.
