"Russia shows blatant disregard for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”, a recent video of the United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office says.

Showing the pattern of Russian state aggression against various countries, including Georgia, the video gives examples of Russian aggressive activities in different times.

Watch the video below:

The video comes in the wake of a recent incident when former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter were found poisoned in the town of Salisbury on March 4.

British officials believe the use of a nerve agent in Salisbury follows a well-established pattern of Russian state aggression.

Russia has a history of flouting international law, most egregiously in Crimea, Eastern Ukraine and Georgia… Russia shows disregard for civilian life”, British Ambassador Jonathan Allen said in his speech delivered at the urgent meeting of the of the United Nations (UN) Security Council yesterday.

Condemning the nerve agent attack in Salisbury, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze said his country stands with the British people.

British officials believe Russia stands behind the attempt on Skripal’s life, however Russia denies the allegations.

  • Russia occupied 20% of Georgian territories recognising Abkhazia and Tskhinvali as independent countries after a military armed conflict with Georgia in 2008.
  • As of today, only four countries recognise Georgia’s breakaway regions as independent republics; these are Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Nauru.
