The Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has stated that the most recent decision of the High Council of Justice to appoint several judges for life has triggered question marks in public.

The High Council of Justice appointed 44 judges for life today. The Council’s decision to several such judges has caused question marks in public and the governing team,” Kvirikashvili stated.

The PM mentioned the judge Manuchar Kapanadze who delivered the verdict on the high-profile Sulkhan Molashvili case, about the man who was later declared as the victim of the United National Movement government by the European Court of Human Rights.

I believe that it is necessary and essential people to receive grounded answers to the questions. The questions are legitimate,” Kvirikashvili said.

Kvirikashvili emphasized that justice is the basement of any democratic state and the Georgian people were fighting with the current government members in 2012 for fairness.
