The de facto leadership of the occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region of Georgia is restricting the procedure of so called border crossing with the rest of  Georgia.

While citizens could earlier cross the so-called border with a passport of de facto South Ossetia as well as with a special pass, now crossing the so-called border will be possible only by using a special pass.

The so-called cabinet of ministers of de facto South Ossetia discussed this issue at today’s meeting, South Ossetian news agency RES reports.

To date, the resolution stated that it is possible to cross the border with Georgia in a simplified manner using the passport of South Ossetia and the permission of the established sample. Now it is possible to cross the border only if a citizen has a permit document”, said de facto deputy chairman of the occupied Tkshinvali’s state security committee Vasily Guliyev.

The only check point is located in Akhalgori and the de facto leadership of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) often closes the border for locals and violates their right to freedom of movement.
