Georgian documentary film wins award at Kyrgyz festival

Institution N16 directed by Aleksandre Koridze won the nomination of Rule of Law at the international festival of human rights documentary films called Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan 2018.

The Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek hosted the festival Bir Duino-Kyrgyzstan 2018, which was held under the slogan “Today working for tomorrow!” from 12-16 November.

Films focused on the issues of children, women and vulnerable groups, on torture, migrants, and people suffering from discrimination and with no access to justice.

Documentary filmmakers, experts in cinematography and human rights, guests from 14 countries visited Bishkek, including representatives of the Netherlands, Central Asian states, Georgia, Sweden, Italy, France, Russia and the USA.

Institution N16 talks about about a new prison in Rustavi, Georgia, which is considered to be the best prison in the entire ex-Soviet space.

Georgian Director Alexandre previously participated twice in Berlinale Talent Campus (2003, 2004), directed over 30 auteur and television films, and participated in various international film festivals.
