US hosts Georgian-themed film festivals in November

Georgian film has been showcased at two festivals in two US cities in November.
The Georgian Contemporary Film Festival, annually held in Washington D.C., presented internationally acclaimed Georgian films from 13-16 November.
This year, the festival included a selection of six impressive productions and discussions with film directors. The event is presented by Embassy of Georgia to the United States in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia.

The second festival showing Georgian cinematography in the US was the Polish Film Festival in America. It is an annual showcase of Polish cinema in Chicago, traditionally showing the best films from Poland and a guest country from Eastern and Central Europe.
This year, the festival celebrated the cinema of the Republic of Georgia. Nine carefully selected movies were presented in person by members of the Georgian film industry from 9-12 November.

- No, No, My Friend dir. Gio Mgeladze (1993)
- My Happy Family dir. Nana Ekvtimishvili (2017)
A selection of latest and classic Georgian cinema, meetings with award-winning directors and actors from the country, and exhibitions with hospitality are all in the upcoming London Georgian Film Festival opening next month in the city.
A selection of some of the most notable Georgian films, from a Soviet classic to contemporary releases, will be screened at Brussels’ BOZAR Centre of Fine Arts in a new festival launched by the venue next week.

Director Rati Oneli's award-winning documentary City of the Sun received more international recognition on Tuesday as the jury team of Sheffield Doc/Fest documentary festival in the United Kingdom awarded one of the event's honours to the film.
Institution N16 directed by Aleksandre Koridze won the nomination of Rule of Law at the international festival of human rights documentary films called Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan 2018.
