Cartu Foundation gifts three new training facilities to Georgian Rugby Union

The Cartu Foundation has signed an agreement to gift three modern, fully equipped training bases to the Georgian Rugby Union.

The total investment made by the foundation in rugby infrastructure amounts 18 millions of GEL.

“Two of the facilities are based in Tbilisi while the third one is in Telavi. All of them are equipped with natural and artificial turfs. The Tbilisi-based facilities are meant for 2,344 viewers while there are 2,244 places at the Telavi stadium,” the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports said today.

The facilities also include swimming pools,  marital sports halls, and open recreational spaces.

The rugby support programme was started by the Cartu Foundation ten years ago and has invested up to 200 million GEL in financial aid to rugby teams, as well as in the development of necessary infrastructure.
