Georgian judoka wins silver at 2018 Youth Olympic Games

Georgian judoka Ilia Sulamanidze has won silver at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games in the 100 kg category.

Sulamanidze, 17, defeated his rivals from Slovenia, Argentina and Turkey and was beaten by Kazakh Bekarys Saduakas in the final battle yesterday.

Georgia already has two medals at the Youth Olympic Games as shooter Nino Khutsiberidze has won bronze.

The third Youth Olympics showcase an equal number of male and female athletes competing for 1,250 medals in 32 sports.

The event is running between 6-18 October.
