Interior Ministry has seized 25 kg heroin so far this year

Georgian Interior Ministry has seized 25 kg heroin and detained 143 drug dealers so far this year, the ministry’s Central Criminal Police Department head Vladimer Bortsvadze stated today at a press briefing.
 
Bortsvadze paid particular attention to the most recent case when four drug traffickers were detained in the Marneuli region of eastern Georgia and Ponichala area of Tbilisi on September 16-17.

The individuals have been systematically selling drugs,” Bortsvadze said.
 

Since January 1, 2018 the Interior Ministry has seized:

• 25 kg heroin.
• 1.5 kg cocaine.
• 8,990 pills of subutex.
• 2.1 kg MDMA.
• 1.2 kg of psychotropic drugs.
