As of July 5, 2018 Georgia has exported 4,400 tonnes of peaches which is five times more compared to the same period of 2017, announces Georgia’s Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.

Georgian peaches were mainly exported to:

  • Russia (66.5 percent)
  • Armenia (16.1 percent)
  • Azerbaijan (14.6 percent)

Other export markets included Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

To support the local peach harvest, a special group was created in Gurjaani, in Georgia’s Kakheti region, to help farmers prepare all necessary documents needed during the harvest, processing or export periods.
