MCA to rehabilitate 30 schools in Western Georgia

The first school which will be fully rehabilitated from June 15 under the project of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) in Western Georgia is school No. 2 in Vani.

The MCA’s project envisages the rehabilitation and equipment with laboratories of 91 public schools in total throughout Georgia. 30 of them are in Western Georgia. 

The rehabilitation of these 30 schools will ensure that 15,200 students have a better environment for studying. 15 million USD  will be allocated for renovation works.

"These works include improving infrastructure and the full rehabilitation of schools ensuring they are up to European standards,” MCA Georgia Chief Executive Officer Magda Magradze said.

The total budget of the project amounts to 54 million USD and 44 schools have been already been rehabilitated in Mtsketa-Mtianeti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti regions.
