Georgian Foreign Minister briefs top OSCE/ ODIHR figures on situation in occupied territories

Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze has met top figures from OSCE/ODIHR, within the 24th OSCE Council Ministerial in Austria, and briefed them about the serious violation of human rights in Georgia’s occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

Janelidze met with Lamberto Zannier, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, yesterday and discussed the topic of national minorities in addition to the occupation of Georgian territories with him.

The Georgian minister thanked Zannier for his recommendations and thematic projects for Georgia.

Janelidze also held a meeting with the ODIHR Director Ingibjorg Solrun Gísladottir. Janelidze thanked her for the ODIHR’s monitoring activities in Georgian elections.

Within the OSCE ministerial meeting, Janelidze met with his Finnish counterpart Timo Soini and discussed bilateral relations with him, thanked Finland for its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
