Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today during his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan.
The two officials once again confirmed the "good neighborly policy and strategic partnership” between Georgia and Azerbaijan, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry informed.

Bilateral and regional cooperation in political and trade-economic directions, including partnership with the European Union (EU) and with the six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine), were among the issues Janelidze and Aliyev discussed in Baku.
The pair agreed to deepen cooperation on the Southern Gas Corridor project that will bring blue energy to Europe from the Caspian Sea region and potentially the Middle East. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project was also discussed, which facilitates the transport of passengers and goods between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
Janelidze and Aliyev believe these projects are not important only for Georgia and Azerbaijan, but the entire region as well.
