Foreign Minister welcomes positive report on Georgian from EU

Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze welcomed the recent positive report published by the European External Action Service and the European Commission on implementation of the Association Agreement and the reforms carried out by the Government of Georgia.

Minister Janelidze believes last year was very significant for Georgia on its path to European integration In particular:

  • Georgia received visa-free travel with the European Union/Schengen Zone;
  • Signed agreement with Europol to tackle cross-border crime;
  • Joined the Energy Community;

Welcoming the statements of EU High Commissioner Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hann on Georgia's progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement, Minister Janelidze said this is especially important ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit.
