Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has met the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres within the framework of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York, United States (US).
The situation at the Russian occupied regions of Georgia – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia), living conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the steps Georgian Government has made in terms of fostering engagement policy and trust building process, were among the main issues the parties discussed at the UN headquarter today.

Guterres said he is well aware of the situation on the occupied territories of Georgia. UN Secretary General praised the Georgian Government for its consistent policy regarding the conflict resolution considering the grave challenges people are facing at the occupied territories of Georgia nowadays.
