Georgia’s PM will address 72nd session of UN General Assembly

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili is scheduled to deliver a speech at the 72nd session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on September 21. 

The Georgian delegation will visit New York to participate in the event between September 18 and 22. 

Kvirikashvili will hold high level, bilateral meetings during his visit. 

The PM will address the participants of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) – an organization composed of 75 foreign states. 

OGP high level events are also within the session.

For the first time Georgia has become the chair of the OGP this year, for a one year term taking the role from France. 

 The 72nd UN session is scheduled to discuss 172 issues, with a focus on human rights and lingered conflicts. 

Key debates within the event will take place between September 19 and 25.
