Among the European Union’s eastern partnership, Georgia is a frontrunner in terms of implementing reforms, says a Lithuanian official.
Head of the Lithuania-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group Zigimantas Pavilionis met with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi today.

He pledged that Lithuania will continue supporting Georgia to strengthen its position as a frontrunner among the eastern partners.
The parties discussed bilateral relations as well and announced that the Lithuanian Prime Minister is scheduled to pay an official visit to Georgia this month.
Kvirikashvili briefed the Lithuanian officials about the ongoing reforms in Georgia and the country’s leading position in different international rankings.
The Lithuanian Parliamentary delegation stressed Georgia’s progress in terms of fighting corruption and bringing its legislation closer to EU standards.

Prior to the meeting with the Prime Minister, the Lithuanian officials met with Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze.
