Up to 13 people have died and dozens have been injured after a van crashed into a crowd of people in the Spanish city of Barcelona today, The Guardian reports adding that, "Catalan police confirmed they were dealing with a terrorist attack”.
Expressing deep condolences towards the Spanish Government and people, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said he believes "the civilised world will deal with this huge challenge and find peace”.

Condemning the terror attack, President Giorgi Marvelashvili said "together with the international community we keep on fighting against this huge threat”.

Georgian citizens can also phone the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tbilisi, which operates 24 hours a day. The number is (+995 32) 294 5050.

No Georgians have been reported among the dead or injured, however, those who live in or nearby Barcelona are highly encouraged to follow local police recommendations.
