Interior Minister fires his first deputy, vows to himself curate criminal police

Georgia’s Interior Minister dismissed his first deputy Besik Amiranashvili today and announced he would personally curate the criminal police earlier the fired police official was responsible for. 

Minister Giorgi Mgebrishvili claimed his new role would increase the effectiveness of the criminal police. 

From now on I will curate all the departments of the criminal police both in Tbilisi and in the regions, as well as the central criminal police department and the patrol police [which i curated ] ,” Mgebrishvili said. 

He stressed he needs no "third person” for the communication with his staff and highlighted his personal involvement in the activities of the criminal and the patrol police would provide better outcomes.
