Georgian leaders condemn today’s terror attacks in the Iranian capital of Tehran and express their deep sorrow to Iranian people.
At least 12 people have lost their lives and 42 people were wounded in Tehran this morning after the armed attackers stormed Iran’s parliament building and Imam Khomeini mausoleum. Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for both attacks, Iranian news agency FARS reported.
Following today's twin attacks, the world leaders, including Georgia’s, shared messages condemning terrorism.
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili posted on Twitter that Georgia stands with the Iranian people.

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili also went to his Twitter to condemn "brutal Tehran attacks”.

Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze expressed solidarity to the people and the government of Iran.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani expressed his condolences to the families of those who died this morning. He said "the terrorist incidents in Tehran today will, no doubt, strengthen the will of the Islamic Iran in the campaign against regional terrorism, extremism and violence”.
