A group of wine professionals from the United States (US), including wine importers, wine writers and sommeliers are visiting Georgia to learn more country’s rich wine history and culture.
Over the course of a week the guests visited local wine-producing companies in various regions of Georgia such as Kartli, Imereti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kakheti, where they were introduced to Georgian winemaking traditions and technologies.
Among the guests there was Julie Peterson, head of American marketing company Marq Energie, who said there was growing interest towards Georgian wine on the US market.

Also, famous journalist from the magazine ‘Wine and Spirit’ Patrick Comisky is also in Georgia. The journalist also writes stories for the ‘Los Angeles Times’.
The wine tour was organised by the Georgian National Wine Agency.
The US is one of the growing export markets for Georgian wine.
During the first four months of 2017 Georgia exported 101,370 bottles of wine to the US, which was 21 percent more compared to the same period of 2016.
