Hundreds of thousands of people gathered on Freedom Square in central Tbilisi late on December 31 to meet New Year outdoors and to become parts of special festive events dedicated to the celebration.

The festive mood was crowned by snowflakes falling from the sky for the first time in Tbilisi this winter.
Despite the winter freeze New Year emotions and mood were high and the gathered public gained big pleasure from the concert on a special stage arranged in the heart of the capital city.

The concert was divided into three parts and was a good combination of New Year compositions, opera and pop music, classical music and traditional, folk songs.

More than 200 musicians and artists participated in the event, as well as the Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Symphonic Orchestra and choir, opera and pop singers and dancers.

Counting last seconds of 2015 the air was filled with Georgian folk song "Mravaljamieri” [Long live].

It has been already several years on when significant part of Georgians preferred to meet the New Year out of their homes.
As a rule, local Government contributes much to make the night and the whole New Year and Christmas period special for Georgians and the country’s foreign guests.

Together with the exiting performance people had opportunities to walk in the city decorated and brightened for the particular period and feel the air of holidays.
