Georgia has signed three grant agreements with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to boost developments of various sectors.
Today Georgia’s Minister of Finane Dimitry Kumsishvili and USAID’s Caucasus Mission Director Douglas Ball signed all three agreements in Georgia's capital Tbilisi.
From this, amendments were made in earlier signed agreements to increase the total grant amount offered by USAID by $22.5 million.
The agreements cover priority areas such as:
Georgia’s Ministry of Finance announced a range of activities had been planned within the agreements and extra financing.
These activities will aim to implement universal business standards and increase the competitiveness in different sectors. At the same time, activities also include efficient management of Georgia’s natural resources and creating market-oriented jobs," said the Ministry.
Furthermore, there will be activities that would help the increasing integration of people with disabilities and displaced persons [into society] and better protection of human rights."
