In the next few hours people of the United States (US) will elect their country's 45th president, and election fever has reached the country of Georgia too.

This afternoon the US Embassy in Tbilisi posted a picture on its Facebook page stating the Embassy had an unusual visitor today.

[The] Embassy was visited today by a woman [internally displaced] from Abkhazia who wanted to let us know how closely she is following the US elections and how passionate she is about democracy,” the photo caption said.

All of Georgia’s internally displaced people (IDPs) are either from Abkhazia or Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) – two regions of Georgia that are currently occupied by Russia.
