The repeat vote is coming to an end and so far the voting environment is peaceful and orderly, says the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA), a leading local non-governmental organisation.

Today Georgia is hosting a repeat vote for the October 8 Parliamentary Elections. The repeat vote is being held at four polling stations in two election districts in different parts of the country.

Overall the voting process is underway in a calm environment,” GYLA said after the NGO sent observers to the stations.

GYLA also welcomed the fact police were patrolling near voting stations, which meant violent acts would be prevented.

Despite this several minor procedural violations had taken place today inside the polling stations, but these errors had been reported and corrected shortly after, noted the GYLA.

A repeat vote was needed at four polling stations in Georgia after votes were nullified due to incidents on Election Day.
