All polling stations in Georgia are now open where people can go and cast their vote in the Parliamentary Elections.
Several minutes ago Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) announced all 3,645 polling stations had opened across the country.
Polling stations opened at 8am in Georgia.
"The voting process is underway in a calm environment. Voting is available for people of all abilities,” the CEC said, referencing the fact several polling stations had been adapted for people with hearing and eyesight impairments.
The CEC noted voters would be given two papers - one for the proportional vote and another for the majoritarian vote - as Georgia elected 77 lawmakers through party lists and 73 in majoritarian districts.
The CEC added voters in the country’s western, coastal Adjara Autonomous Republic were given two additional papers, as Adjara also elected its 21-member Supreme Council of Adjara who were also elected through majoritarian vote and party lists.
Voting will end at 8pm today.
