The resolution represented a major statement by the US in support of Georgia and its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of continued occupation by the Russian Federation.
Passage of this resolution sent a strong message about the deep and lasting friendship between Georgia and the US, said Kvirikashvili.
The legislation was introduced by Representatives Ted Poe and Gerry Connolly, Co-Chairs of the United States House of Representatives Georgia Caucus, and had strong bipartisan support.
The Congress Foreign Affairs Committee provided more tweets about the resolution:

They also thanked the US lawmakers for their unwavering support.
Opposition lawmakers in Georgia’s Parliament also praised the adoption of the resolution and said this "once again proves the US’ support for Georgia”.
