Anaklia, the name of the small coastal settlement in Georgia’s west, appeared on hundreds of social media accounts all over the world this week thanks to the largest electronic music festival GEM Fest, which united more than 100 international and local artists and thousands of music fans at the shore of Black Sea.
Music was performed on five stages on the beach; the line-up included top artists like Grammy Award-winning German DJ Paul van Dyk, producer and live performer Paul Kalkbrenner and Icelandic electronic band GusGus.
For the past four days and five nights the word #Anaklia swirled on social media accounts of the performers and bloggers all over the world alongside the words "dream”, "fest” and "good time”.

One of the headliners of the festival and one of the most defining performers of House music, Fedde Le Grand, also used #Anaklia and #Gemfest to announce his show to followers all around the world via his Twitter account:

Another other star performer from Frankenthal, Germany was Boris Brejch, who posted a picture of Anaklia beach on his Facebook page, encouraging followers to guess where he was:
Music team from London, Pleiades says "Thank you, Georgia! Incredible energy from the crowd,” describing their impressions of GEM Fest via their Facebook fan page:
Techno duo from the United Kingdom, Ossa di Mare, posted a message on their Facebook page, saying "GEM fest Georgia you were amazing!!!”.
Award-winning UK travel blogger and YouTuber Victoria Brewood, who has more than 21,000 followers on her Twitter account, also published a series of photos from Anaklia, calling GEM Fest an "epic” event.

A model and blogger with the nickname agnijagrigule, who has more than 48,000 followers on Instagram published this image from GEM Fest, which gathered 3,500 likes within a couple of hours.
"OMG! This #gemfest2016 is just like a dream! Actually I am not a huge fan of festivals, but this festival is like Coachella in #Georgia!” reads her caption of the photo.
The 2016 Gem Fest is one of the events within Check in Georgia, a Governmental cultural project bringing together dozens of festivals and cultural events across Georgia under one umbrella.
