Georgia’s newest concert venue has hosted its first classical music concert.
British violinist Vanessa Mae played for more than two hours at the new Black Sea Arena concert venue last night.
The concert lasted half an hour longer than planned after the musician, impressed by the audience, deviated from script and asked the public what she should perform.
The show was really great. The audience seemed very happy and tickets were sold out,” said Black Sea Arena manager Dimitri Beridze.
Vanessa herself seemed very satisfied with the audience. Despite changing her set and involving the public, which created some difficulties for guards, everything went on smoothly.”
The internationally known violinist will stay in Georgia’s resort city Batumi until August 8 to enjoy the Black Sea coast and explore Georgia.
Black Sea Arena opened with an energetic performance by one of America’s leading pop stars, Christina Aguilera on July 30.
Looking ahead, Georgian ensemble Erisioni will perform at the Black Sea Arena on August 13, followed by German rock group Scorpions, who will take to the stage on August 20.
