The Embassy of France in Georgia says it is grateful for the support Georgia showed in the aftermath of the July 14 deadly terrorist attack in the coastal city of Nice that left 80 people dead and dozens more injured.

This morning the Embassy released a statement that said France was still in mourning for the "odious and deadly” terror attack.

"The Embassy of France in Georgia is grateful of the Government and people of Georgia for the solidarity and friendship they have expressed towards us in this terrible time,” the statement said.

This afternoon officials and the general public in Georgia had an opportunity to sign a book of condolences as a tribute to those killed and affected by the attack. Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili was one of the first to do so.
